Do you want a fast street car with engine performance that goes up to full race? Do you have an engine that needs repair or overhaul? Or do you have a race car and want a competitive engine?
Sverre can undertake all types of engine jobs and help you with everything from low budget 5 port engines to 8 port race engines. If you don`t have an engine yourself, he has various engine parts as well as several engines for sale. He is happy to build an engine according to your specifications. There are many opportunities here.....

Sverre has over 50 years of experience with engine building, tuning and overhaul as well as restoration, conversion, repair and racing with Mini. In his career he has, among other things:
Sverre numbers the engines he builds / tunes and mounts on an rocker cover plate (Engine Preparation by Sverre Løchen). This form of marking has been used internationally by the major tuning companies as a seal of quality and, of course, as an identification of their engine work.
If you want a really fast engine, both the choice of type of cylinder head and the modification of the cylinder head will be central due to the fact that the A series engine's power is limited at the cylinder head. An engine with 8 port cylinder heads will have clear advantages in the form of more engine power and significantly better torque compared to both 5 and 7 port engines. The 8-port cylinder head was developed with racing in mind and the special crossflow design significantly helps to reduce the breathing problems that especially 5-port engines have. The disadvantage of an 8 port motor is first and foremost price, but if you want the very best it will cost a bit more. The advantage of engines with 5 port cylinder heads beyond the price aspect is a larger selection of engine parts such as cylinder heads, valves, camshafts and partly manifolds and carburetor systems. Engines with a 7-port cylinder head must, like 8-port engines, have a special type of carburettor system, but manifolds and camshafts are similar to those in engines with a 5-port cylinder head.
Sverre has built and tuned a large number of engines with an output of over 100 hp. Among others, a standard 1275cc engine with an original Cooper S cylinder head modified by David Vizard can be mentioned. The cylinder head was further modified by Sverre and the engine finally produced 102 hp at the wheels. Assuming a loss of power in the power transmission from the engine to the wheels corresponding to 18-20 hp, the engine power at the flywheel in this engine was around 120 hp.
Another engine that can be mentioned was built for a friend of Sverre for his Mini Pickup project. The purpose of the engine was to achieve good torque and lots of engine power and was built with a standing Weber carburetor installation that has otherwise been installed in Sverre's previous street car. Standing Weber is a very rare carburetor type and there are probably very few of these worldwide. The engine in this Mini Pickup produces 136 hp. Below are examples of some engines Sverre has built.
